As 'A slightly Isolated Dog' have grown their body of work from Don Juan to Jekyll & Hyde and beyond, they've grown their troupe of actors. At any time there are around 10 actors who have brought the comedy interactive theatre experience to life, and that can be called on to step into the roles of the french performance troupe telling the tale of Jekyll and Hyde. Hayley SproullHayley Sproull is an actor, comedian and musician originally from Wellington, New Zealand. She is a 2011 graduate of Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School, where she earned a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Acting.
Sproull’s passion for theatre and comedy has lead her to create a number of successful comedy works, including Miss Fletcher Sings the Blues, Outsiders’ Guide, Tighty Whiteys, Milky Bits and Vanilla Miraka, earning her an array of praise and accolades, including Best New Comer at the NZ International Comedy Festival 2012, the Chapman Tripp Theatre Award for Most Promising Female New Comer in 2013 and most recently Best Actress and Best Composer at The Wellington Theatre Awards 2017. Sproull was also nominated for a New Zealand Film Award in 2014 for her role in the short film School Night. When she isn’t writing, performing or composing, you’ll find her on the marching field as a member of the Champion Marching Drill Team, Lochiel. |
Andrew PatersonAndrew graduated from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School -Acting in 2012. Highlights from being at Toi Whaakari are performing Harry Brewer in Our Country's Good, and the 2012 Go SoloSeason.
After graduating Andrew has acted in Ensemble Impacts Schools Tour, Pandemic, An Awfully Big Adventure, I Could Live Here winning Best Newcomer in the New Zealand Fringe Festival Awards 2014, Isaac Newton in Isaac’s Eye, Julie in Don Juan, Terry in The Travelling Squirrel, Little Andrew in Robin Hood, Julie in Jekyll & Hyde, Edgar in King Lear,Treat in Orphans and John in The Angry Brigade where Andrew won Best Male Newcomer at the Wellington Theatre Awards. |
Jonathan PriceBorn in Christchurch, Jonathan is an actor and theatre maker living in Wellington and working across NZ. He holds a First Class Honours degree in theatre and English Literature from Victoria University of Wellington and has studied mask, clown and physical theatre at the John Bolton Theatre School in Auckland and Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Étampes, France.
Jonathan began his professional career as a founding member of Bright Orange Walls theatre company, appearing in the acclaimed found-space Shakespeares, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2014) and Twelfth Night (2015). With A Slightly Isolated Dog he co-created and performed Don Juan (2015), which continues to tour nationally, and Jekyll & Hyde (2016), with further works in development. In 2016 he appeared in Indian Ink’s The Elephant Thief and this year will tour with An Awfully Big Adventure (Capital E, Leo Gene Peters). Jonathan taught and directed on the 1st-Year Go Solo season at Toi Whakaari NZ Drama school and co-wrote and -directed Caucus, Caucus, Harvest, Dawn with Aaron Cortesi and Christian Penny. |
Samuel AustinSamuel graduated from Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School at the end of 2016. He had previously been a member of Long Cloud Youth Theatre, and was drawn to drama and music from a young age, going on to be an active member of the Shakespeare Society at Wellington High School.
While at Toi Whakaari, Samuel took part in many productions, plays, films and projects, and in addition began an independent practice, exploring multimedia sufficiently to even encompass game design. Notable acting roles included Aristarkh in John Bolton’s Dying for It and The Priest in Annie Ruth’s Courage. |
Susie BerrySusie Berry is excited to play her role of Lily in Jekyll & Hyde. Since she last performed in Don Juan, Berry won a Best Supporting Actress at the Wellington Theatre Awards in 2016, listed as one of the Top Ten Theatre Moments in Wellington on The Pantograph Punch and worked on many other productions.
Highlights over the last year include playing Lily in A Slightly Isolated Dog’s Jekyll and Hyde, Hudson in Aroha White’s 2080, Ella in Cassandra Tse’s Long Ago, Long Ago and touring Maui and the Sun with The Court Theatre. Berry is a Toi Whakaari graduate. Other than acting, her passions include make-up artistry, Beyonce and listening to rap music. |
